Zoe Zumudio
About me.
Hi, my name is Zoë. I’m an accredited counsellor specialising in trauma, offering a compassionate, safe and confidential space where you can talk openly about what you are experiencing. I work with both childhood and adult trauma, as well as relationship difficulties, anger, addiction, work-related stress, bereavement, grief and loss, anxiety, low self-esteem and crisis support. As an integrative counsellor, I draw on a range of therapeutic approaches and tailor our work to your individual circumstances, needs and goals.
Trauma and its impact.
I specialise in supporting people affected by trauma and understand the lasting impact that difficult and distressing experiences can have on our emotional, psychological and physical wellbeing.
Trauma can affect people in very different ways. Its impact can emerge through anxiety, depression, anger, guilt, shame, low self-esteem, emotional dysregulation, dissociation or difficulties within relationships. Sometimes the effects can be difficult to understand, particularly when we have been trying to manage them alone.
Whether you are experiencing the effects of childhood trauma, relationship difficulties, bereavement, loss, anxiety or low self-esteem, I offer trauma-informed support tailored to you. We will work at your pace, with your safety and wellbeing at the centre of our work.
Supporting survivors of sexual violence.
I have had the privilege of working alongside survivors of domestic abuse, rape, sexual assault and sexual abuse, supporting both men and women who have experienced recent or non-
sexual violence.
I understand that speaking about these experiences can feel incredibly difficult. You may be carrying feelings of fear, shame, anger, guilt, confusion or isolation, and you may not know where to begin.
I will offer you a space where you can be heard without judgement, while working alongside you to process what has happened and understand its impact. My aim is to help you rebuild your sense of safety, confidence and control, and move towards a future that feels meaningful to you.
I feel particularly passionate about supporting men who have experienced sexual violence. Gender should never be a barrier to accessing support, and no one should feel that they have to face the impact of abuse alone.
Whatever your circumstances, the abuse you experienced was not your fault. Healing is possible.
Supporting partners and families.
I also work with people who have been affected by the sexual assault or abuse of someone close to them, including partners and family members.
These experiences can bring a complicated mixture of emotions and can be extremely difficult to process. I have also worked with people dealing with the impact of a loved one being convicted of a sexual offence, as well as people who have experienced the distress and uncertainty of being falsely accused of something they did not do.
Whatever your circumstances, I believe this work needs to be approached with sensitivity, respect and compassion. My role is to provide a space where you can explore what you are experiencing without judgement, while working towards greater understanding, emotional stability and wellbeing.
Our work together.
Every person's experience is unique, and I believe counselling should reflect that.
I use trauma-informed and trauma-specific approaches to help you understand and manage the effects of difficult experiences. Together, we can explore what you are experiencing, develop ways of managing difficult emotions and begin to build confidence and emotional resilience.
My aim is not simply to help you cope, but to support you in making meaningful and lasting changes that allow you to move forward.
